Researcher friend is doing a field study on Ocelets found near Globe on Picketpost Mt. Amazing as they were thought to be extinct and never expected to be found in this area! Very cool!

That is the coolest news! I had heard there might be some further south. Hope they form a breeding population and move up this way, if it is not too cold here.

Now I remember that. But it sounds like there are more out there? Around Globe, I mean specifically?

I've been searching and can't seem to find anything on the internet confirming that, yet. Mostly I'm wondering if the sightings could some how be used to stop the Queen Creek mining????? That would be huge. Sure would like to see that beautiful land preserved.

I camped at Pioneer Pass campground on the east side of Pinal Peak June 26-27 and found scat while hiking the East Mountain trail that we thought possibly to be coyote, but it seemed a bit small. Makes me wonder...

I'll let you all know when if I see my bud again, as he and 2 other researchers are headed in that area between Picketpost, Globe and the Pinals and will be camping aound for awile before returning to Yellowstone. I think it's awesome. Those cats are gorgeous and usually remain under cover. Too sad about the one that got hit. He told me of that, but more were spotted in these areas..
