I'm planning on doing the loop around Weaver's Needle on Monday, Memorial day. It'll be a 5am start at Peralta TH, Bluff Springs trail, Terrapin trail, Dutchman trail, then Peralta back to TH. It's about 12.5 miles. I may jog parts of it because I want to finish before noon. I just really need to get out for 4-6 hours of good strong hiking so if an alternate route presents itself we could change the plan along the way. Smile

Enjoy your Day and Hike. Possible Jog in the Park, eh? Wow!!
Weather looks good but a bit toasty as the day wears on. But sounds as though you'll be done before the heat really settles in

Take care out there

Thanks Michelle. I ended up just keeping a fast pace with a few stops here and there. Terrapin is getting overgrown again but it's not as bad as some spots on Peralta between Fremont saddle and the Dutchman trail. I was off the trail by 11:30am. Saw a desert iguana, my first one in the wild. Forgot to take along the camera so his identity is protected. His tail was sticking out of a crack in a rock. When I touched it, he hissed at me and pulled it further into the crack.
