Alpine does not exist when it comes to Phoenix news stations. Greer gets a little more exposure, but not much. Alpine can have the most snowfall of any town in AZ, time after time, but the Phx news people will just report on Flagstaff.

Yeah, I would love to be snowed in if I knew I had enough backups to make it through.

I just think it makes sense to have your house set up so you can live comfortably without power, especially if you live in Alpine, Greer, Blue, etc. I lived off the grid in Hawaii for years, but of course there we didn't need a furnace, etc. We caught water off the roof and had an outhouse, etc.

I guess for some there was no water, maybe because the pumps are electric. I'm glad that in Eagar our water system is gravity feed. At least, I think it is. There was no phone up there, either, and of course, cell phones don't work well in Greer or Alpine. Some people have just allowed themselves to become very dependent upon these things. And some of them are quite elderly, so it's understandable that they would be uncomfortable and concerned.

Snowtel readings are impressive, dont think some place may open until may or even june.
