Must be close, I heard cicada's singing and observed desert toads out and about. Also had a badger stick his head up from a hole.

We haven't had much summery weather yet up here on the mountain. It has really been a cool spring, with a lot of rain in May, and lately just coldish nights, cool days, lots of wind and clouds, some sprinkles. Everyone is saying we will go straight into monsoon without getting any hot, dry summer weather.

Wildflowers are blooming in the forest and grasslands that usually don't bloom until August or September. I am still running my heaters every single day, especially early in the morning. I wore Tevas without socks for the first time yesterday to run some errands midday, but at the same time I wore long jeans and a sweater!

My garden is very slow, things don't want to grow very fast. I still have some stuff in my plant room to be placed out, but those can wait until warmer nights are forecast.

On the other hand, my lawns and fruit trees (apples and pears) and all my shade trees (weeping willow, maple, elm and birch) and grapevines are going great guns. It does look like summer out there, even if the veggies are slow to grow.

Even in Tucson it's been great! Lot's of water in the canyons to swim in too.
Had some sprinkles this week, it's funny how the kids freak out when you take them out into a little "sprinkle".
