I was going to order a sleeping bag online today for my husband (I don't have time to go to REI this weekend) and I need some help with the sizing.

My husband is 6' tall and the regular sleeping bags fit up to 6' tall.
The long sleeping bags go up to 6'6".

Does anyone have any knowledge if the regular sleeping bag will fit him?

Also, he is 6' tall and thin, if this makes a difference.

I am looking to save weight here...and if he can get away with the regular size one, then I rather buy that one.

The sleeping bags I am looking at are the Mountain Hardwear down filled spectre or phantom if this helps.

Thanks in advance...

Heidi

I am 6 feet tall and fat, and the regular REI bag works for me.

let me rephrase the sleeping bag question...

Is there enough room in that sleeping bag to get the job done?

I think the proper question would be - Is there enough room in the back of a Hoolimobile to get the job done?... and I thought we were being nice to Hooli until his elbow healed.

So Hooli - can we start picking on you again? Twisted Evil

I'm 5'2" and the regular bag leaves me swimming in extra weight and fabric. But that doesn't help you at all.

Does that count for a Rolling Eyes comment?

No, you may not start picking on Hooli again; Hooli is gravely ill and suffering heroically in silence as his elbow keeps screaming, No, you may NOT start working out with your dumb bells again, (weights, not GTG, Tommy Trekker and Stan). Tried one set of curls Tuesday with usual 25# on right arm and 7# on the left; no pain; Wednesday said to myself, "self, get your ass in gear" so did two sets with same weights..... WooHoo, I'm cured! Yesterday did three sets with same weights. pumpkin Woohoo.......elbow now wrapped back in ice and, tho' I, as before, suffer in heroic silence, my pumpkin elbow is calling me names that are seldom heard even on the golf course. Oh Yeah, did two 10 minutes on the rowing machine yesterday which probably didn't help. Gimmy more dope! Gimmy more dope!

Hope that answered your question to your satisfaction. Very Happy

In the meantime, three PM's to GTG in the past two weeks about my status a Moderator/administrator have gone unanswered, so any of you folks that have been sending PM's to Hooli to keep the bad guys in line are gonna have to look elsewhere.......like GTG for example. Confused dunno Rant Say What? Stunned Nah Nah! Whoops! Doh! Dismayed wave
Of course, I'm innocent angel and pretty well stoned....may come to my senses and delete this post in the a.m. Very Happy

Added 12-13-08....woke this a.m. with forearm and hand so swollen I've had to go back to wearing my watch on my right wrist; left wrist too swollen. Had gone over a week without that problem. Guess working out with the weights was a really stupid idea.
