Canoeing was on Saturday, but the real fun was on Sunday, when we kayaked from the Gila River down to the Colorado River, and through Yuma. Total distance was only about 5 miles. It was a lot of fun, though. At first you feel as though you are miles from anywhere, because the riverside brush hides the levies and fields. When you get into town there are the bridges, buildings, and the public beaches. (Yes, really!) Lots of photos in gallery.

Cool cool stuff. Its a long ways from here, but it seems like there is a lot of neat stuff to do down there. May have to check it out sometime.

Yeah, I keep finding neat things to do, and meeting people, and finding other resources. I forgot to mention that if you look at City of Yuma Parks and Rec, they do kayaking trips similar to the one we did. The next one is scheduled for Dec. 20. Everything is provided, just bring your lunch, etc.

Just wish I had more time! I do have to work 5 days a week!

Wish I had actually brought my own kayak, because I found another person who knows more advanced stuff such as the roll.

The only real kayaking school I have been able to find out about in or near AZ is at Lake Mead.
