Wow Letty, how interesting!! You find some of the most interesting stuff. I love Old pictures. They were some "gutsy" people there. And some pretty treacherous climbs ... amazing what they did without special equipment. And I agree with Stan's comment. The words through out are well written and a joy to read. They describe things in such a different way, than the way we speak today.
