The USGS water site, not sure what part of the San Juan were talking about though.

On the S.J. below Bluff, the minimum flow to negotiate a raft is about 650 to 700 cfs - of course that depends on the weight/size of the raft somewhat, but that's a good thumb-rule. 1000 cfs & up would be better.
Over the last 10 years, October's 'mean' flow is 1404 cfs - November's, 1026 cfs.

Thanks for the info, Cynhikr. This was what was needed to set context -- I looked at the numbers and said Ok what is good Confused and what is a no-go Chin Scratching

We floated the San Juan late May or early June this year. Took my mother (age 89). There is only one rapid. mp
