Here's an opportunity.....

I will be taking my 16-foot raft on a private river trip on the Rogue in early September. The permit holder says I can bring a passenger/ass't boatman. I have been unable to round up such a person as yet. <Could possibly bring two folks!>

The trip launches on September 6th from near Galice Resort, Oregon, and takes out on the 12th. I will be driving from Tucson, leaving about Sep 2nd or 3rd.

Shared costs for the river trip are estimated at $125 but might be just a little higher. Costs for the ride up and back are shared expenses on the road.

If you are interested - want more details please pm me. I will be in Northern Arizona most of this coming week so might be slow on responding to your queries.

How we getting to Oregon on a $125? I would love to join, September's not looking good for open dates though.

Good Luck,

Yes I see the separation. But what the point of mentioning the $125, when the gas is going to cost at least that much. Enjoy the trip.

How dense are you? The river trip shared costs will probably come to $125.
The costs of getting there and back are totally separate.

Sheesh

Wow. Good luck finding a passenger.

Tim, stop antagonizing this poor person.

I'm terribly sorry. I made what I thought was a very generous offer to the members of this group. Never mind. I withdraw the offer.

Dang it Tim, quite scaring away the members Doh!

Mike I wasn't trying to be rude, but won't gas be A LOT more than just the $125. I think some of my normal sarcasm isn't getting across on the board here. Again, I wasn't trying to be rude, I would love a spot in the raft if I could make.

Mike,

If I wasn't having rotator cuff surgery I would join you in a heartbeat. $125 for nearly a week on the Rogue is a bargain! I spent an entire day on the Rogue River a number of years ago and it was absolutely awesome! Always wanted to go back and hike the Rogue River Trail and stay in the Zane Grey cabins along the way. A float sounds even better.

I understood what Mike said. This is how all private river trips are funded--the group cost is for food and perhaps a permit or car shuttle. Transportation to and from the river is separate. Mike is good people--don't give him trouble por favor--mary
