I don't think so, I heard the site hosts at a BLM facility reported it late in the day and then had to evacuate. There are some historical buildings up in the area--a sanitorium from years ago when people "went west" for their health. I heard that wasn't burned.

Nighthiker - Now they are "Prescribed Burns". Rolling Eyes They have stopped calling them controlled burns. They finally found out they can't always control them. They called them "managed burns" for a while, but they can't always manage them. Now even if they screw up, they were still properly "Prescribed" just not managed or controlled.

SWCC has raised preparedness to level 4, where there is a potential for overwhelming number of fires, and a military contact is established to request assistance from them and other resources as needed.
We're getting some isolated t-storms here, drops here and there. Plenty of fires around Tucson right now.

Eastern AZ = Hot Air Fire has closed US 191. Not sure where. About 3,000 acres as of today.
Southern AZ = a couple fires burning. One in the Rincons. I didn't know we had a Vail AZ.

Large amounts of smoke from what looks like a rather significant fire south of my house....on the other side of what I can see of the Estrellas so I don't know how far away it is but it has more than doubled in size in the past few hours.

I was out that way this evening, it's burning just on the south side of the river. I saw a tiny thunderstorm with a little lightening on my way out that way, then on the way back saw it had sparked the fire.

Yeah I was playing softball in Goodyear tonight, fire looked to be of pretty good size, could see the orange glow from flames while driving towards the 101 off of Glendale. Saw many lightning flashes in the 1/2 hour drive home as well.

There was a ton of lightning in the East Valley tonight and earlier this afternoon. I shot this tonight at my house in Queen Creek. I don't know about any fires though.
