Just in case any of you happen to be vacationing (skiing perhaps?) in the White Mtns. this week:

Tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. at the Casa Malpais Museum in Springerville a certain person you may be acquainted with is going to give a slide show and talk at the Arizona Archaeological Society's Little Colorado River Chapter monthly meeting. The presentation topic will be William Wallace Bass of the Grand Canyon and also a little about the archaeology of that area.

Mainly it's a way to show off my South Bass photos to my friends at AAS! I had to come up with an "arch-hist" twist. Some of the photos are mine, some were taken by my hiking pals who went on the trip. Plus several archival photos of Wm. Bass, his wife, kids, etc.

The Casa Malpais Museum has MOVED!!! Its new temporary quarters are right next to the Springerville Police Dept. in the back of the old school building on Main Street, south side of the street. You have to drive around behind the bldg, as if you were going to the cop shop. The old school building is directly across the street from the El Jo Motel.

Have fun. I hope there is a good showing.
