I'm not sure if this problem has anything to do with the server upgrade, but I'm wondering why this site takes so long to load. Any other site I click on, BOOM!, there it is. But this one... well, I could go make soup and sandwich before it loads up. This isn't a problem isolated to a particular time of the day, it's all of the time. Am I the only one who notices this?

It's issues with the old server giving me problems. Probably will have the new one running today. Hopefully.

Matt, this is evenstar (John Richardson, aka Hooli, probably the biggest pain in the ass of AZH in terms of nonsensical postings) But, being one of the first members of AZH, I probably know more about it's history than most.
First, we use Gartman Technical's servers free of charge, yet we're probably using more of their server broadband than the other top ten PAYING customers combined. All out of the generosity of the Gartman family who count on Gartment Technical to put food on their plates as well as the plates of their employees. Wonder how much of that food comes because of us? NADA (which would probably do wonders for Mickey's waistband....sorry Mickey, after all, I'm Hooli so what did you expect? Exclamation )
OK, put yourself in their position.....who you gonna serve first, that customer who pays you four figures a year to use their servers, or AZH which is getting that service for zilch, nada, nothing. Don't think it'll take you long to figure the answer to that question.
I know personally how many hours GTG puts in on the average week to keep us going........just ask hikngrl Rolling Eyes (and prepare to run and duck):.....I left the corpotate world sisxteen years ago because I refused to make that kind of sacrifice.
Only once has GTG had to ask for donations to correct spam problems; You may remember spam postings to gambling, drug and porn websites.....and worse yet, actual postings from some of the porn sites that were as gross as any you can imagine.
Well, those spams are now history and AZH stays a free site to any legimate member! (Even Hooli Shocking! ) So please remember, the next time it takes a few or even several seconds to connect, it's all because of the generosity of Gartman Technical, which, let's face it, owes it's priorty to its paying customers, so if it takes a little longer to get around to us, maybe now you'll understand why.

I'm not old! Just tired; I go in for surgery on the 24th to replace a torn ligament in my left elbow and see what other damage I've done to tendons, etc.
The new ligament comes from a cadavar. I suggested one from Tommy Trekker; they said a cadavar is a dead person, I said
"So?"

Brat #1 is gonna give me ride to and from Hosp. I suggested she could use the time in between to clean my house; guess I don't have to tell ya what the reply was.
I will be in a brace for six weeks that will keep me from driving the stick shift Xterra, but will be able to get around SCW in my golf cart. After brace comes off I have eight weeks of three times a week of PT, at $20 a visit which I can't afford.
Already looking into bankruptcy or some means of keeping my home. Stock market has pretty much destroyed my retirement fund which was mostly made up of BofA stock.
Life Sucks!

Hooli, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful. I am aware of AZH's free use of the servers, and that is very generous of Gartman Technical. Next time, I will point out potential problems without sounding like a spoiled brat... or I will just keep my mouth shut.

Elizabeth, I wish "frickin' Saddle Shoes, Ohio" was an exaggeration. Oh, I wish that so much. Hopefully it won't be too long before my wife gets transferred again, next time hopefully to New Hampshire or out of the country.

I've noticed lately that I can't log onto the site when I get to work and this generally lasts until noon or later. (that's 0300 - 0900 AZ time)

Not complaining, just something that I've noticed and wondered if anyone else was having issues.

Yup, dittos. I often get up at 3 a.m. or so, and can't get on here. Not complaining or anything, just a comment.

Noticed Hooli's post up there, too. Sigh... Crying or Very sad

Being the PC/Network Wizard that I am NOT! I've been having some trouble when I try to log in sometimes. Gives me an Internet Browser error, saying I'm not logged into Internet. Thought it was just me and my PC. Thought I may have my machine too locked down?
