I usually keep it half filled with water in the fridge...then in the moring, top it off with ice...I've never considered freezing it...always thought it would eventually cause leaks...

I've only recently been hiking with a bladder, and I too never considered freezing anything. I just fill it with ice if I'm going to be hiking in high summer - mostly I only care if it's wet and doesn't taste like dirt or plastic.

So far I have no complaints in any way about my Camelback H.A.W.G. - been just dandy for me.

I have a Camelback transalp, have had it for about a year and on my last hike, Saturday, it leaked. I haven't looked at really to find out where but I was a bit frustrated. I do figure that a year with no problems is pretty good.

I have a Camelbak mule (100 oz.) for about a month now, no problems so far. I also have a Blackburn 70 oz. and I keep both bladders in the fridge.

I have three camelbaks and have found they can leak around the screw in cap if it's not tightened enough....and also if it's over tightened! Once it's filled and capped, I put almost all my weight on it and make necessary adjustments to stop any leakage. Once I learned that trick I had no more leak problems.
