I have bought most of my nicer gear online from specialty outfits. For everyday stuff I buy from Campmor or Popular here in town. I buy freeze dried foods at discount places online. I gave up on REI several years ago.

Okay Ck1 how much is REI paying you to get this kind of feedback?

hahahaha Very Happy

I shop at all three that have been mentioned - REI, Pop, and Hiking Shack, I also like the new Sportsman's Warehouse that just opened by the Dearvally center 101 and i-17. But I'm a big online person too.
REI and THS are just to spensive.

I like the Peace surplus store in Flag too!

I use and highly recommend a little place out of oregon. They have some good prices and good customer service, as well as the kinda stuff a gear junkie just has to have

I work at Popular, so I do most of my shopping there - employee discount, ya know! I'm currently at the 16th St. & Indian School store, if anyone ever wants to say "Hi"! Mr. Green
