Well Boys and Girls, once again I have sent off for the application for the Cabeza Prieta/ El Camino trip. Looks like early Jan for this one, with my co-workers going once again. I have several plans for this area, one a repeat drive, camp, short hike, history tour kinda like I did before, one long weekend a backpack with peak bagging of Cabeza Prieta peak in those mountains out of Tule Well. Also more exploration afoot of Tinaja Altas.
If anyone wants to go with us pm me, if you have any interest. Must have 4wd vehicle and self supporting. May have room for some passengers, not sure yet. Dates are not set. Again, small group, only a couple more vehicles and car pooling encouraged.
I love winter and the low desert!!!! _________________ You can rest when you're dead |

For those who pm'd me in past; hope you know who you are--here is tenative plans for either the weekend of Jan 13-14-15; or Jan 20-21-22
Fri nite- meet up in Gila Bend
Sat--drive in on Christmas Pass road ( sandy, somewhat rutted and one rocky 4X4 section) set up camp 1 at Tule Well, time permitting climb Peak 2014 right out of camp.
Sun-- drive west of Tule Well and cross country peak bag Cabeza Prieta peak ( the brownish/white peak seen as we drove out of Tule Well) est time is about 5-6 hours to do this, due to short daylight hours plan on the day. If we get it done mosey on toward Tinaja Altas and camp 2 there.
Mon-- EARLY climb of Tinaja Altas peak. Shouldn't take real long. Then drive out to home.
Of course will alter plan depending on what goes on and how time treats us. Hope ya'll kept your info--if not contact Cabeza Prieta Wildlife Refuge for permit info. _________________ You can rest when you're dead |

Sounds like a good time. Wish I had 4x4. Gotta finish working on the Mercury before I can contemplate getting an old International or such though... _________________ Anywhere is within walking distance if you spend the time. |

Darn, I will have to miss this one. Last time was such a blast but I'm in the final stretch now and must stay focused. I start working as a nurse extern on Saturday and will begin my preceptor hours in February. By April all the dust should have settled and I"ll be more than ready to get out past the 3 wire. _________________ It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -- Carl Sagan |

WOW! Just noticed this for the first time; not sure how I missed it before. Maybe if ya plan another later in the year, I can get in on it. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

I went back to school in my late 30's. I took a full load and I had a full time job. I got an Associates in doing that for 2 1/2 years. Darned near killed me but the feeling of finishing up! Man oh man. And the first real check tells the truth my brother!!! _________________ "Surely all God's people, however serious or savage, great or small, like to play.
