I just went to a planning meeting for this new event, being planned for April by the Town of Eagar. I'm helping with the mountain biking portion, and if they decide to have hiking I may help with that as well. A big part of it will be fly fishing. There will be vendors at the rodeo grounds, a BBQ, the usual.
The flier I was given says April 27-28, 2007, but I was told it will probably change to either the weekend before or after. I will post updates as I learn about them.
One of the problems we may face doing guided mtn. bike rides will be the trail conditions. We have no way of knowing if there will still be some ice and snow, or a lot of mud, on the trails. Usually even if there is snow on the mountain you can still ride the two-tracks out in the prairie hills to the north and east of Springerville. So we will just have to see what happens. |
