Lance has the heart of a Jaguar. I have been on the edge of my chair with this tour and he has not disappointed. Crash him, run him through a field, give him the flue, but you just can't keep him down. You just can't guess what is going to happen in the next five minutes in this 100th anniversary tour but barring a major catastrophe Lance is going to win the long hard battle for the sweetest tour yet. _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys

I can't wait for him to contend for a 6th title (assuming he holds on to win this tour)
By the way - did you see the way he burried everyone in that mountain stage? I mean Vinokourov probably thought he had at least a shot before hitting the hills, then the mountains come and he gets dumped from the lead to well over 2:00 back - in just one stage. And poor Ullrich - they keep saying "the 1997 winner" like it matters. Dude is now 1:07 back - and there are more mountain stages still to go. He's like Charles Barkley to the Jordan of the sport - always hanging around but never able to get over the hump.
I mean, you beat this guy to death and he still demoralizes you like that. That HAS to be devestating mentally. Seriously - Ullrich is always considered a "threat" to win - and then never gets any closer than a couple of minutes back. (wasn't it over 7:00 last year?) - that has to suck. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."

If the the US Postal Team rides Trek, What does the USPS use to deliver mail ? Today In traffic a USPS Service truck passed me with several letter carrier bikes in the back. I did not get a chance to note what they use. |

It's a fun ride - the two toughest riders in the world are - right now - both Americans. Hamilton is a MAN. Armstrong is THE man. Both dudes are TOUGH competitors. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."

This may be a 1st in the tour -- Both Stage winner & Overall #1 being Americans ( ofcourse other than Lance taking the spot many time).. Wasn't Hamilton only the 6th American to win a stage in the tour ? _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Robbie just took the Green but it won't be decided untill the Champs Elysee.
The big prize hopefully will be decided at the TT tomorrow. Lance is looking very strong now. He is predicting a Tour record. This has been one of the best Tours I can remember. _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys

Lance the man..# 5 is in the bag ......What a TT.
Too bad Ulrich went down. It was setting up to be a great ride......and we would not have had the question of "What would have happened if Ulrich had not gone down"
The tour has been absolutely great. Even got me to be up early to catch it before work! _________________ Photos: http://www.pbase.com/desertgirl/galleries

Watched another stage this morning, I think Lance is riding great andsmart. I thought just jumping on the bike and racing the sun, there is a strategy to the race. |

I almost entered the Trek bicycle contest, heresy- I stick to Giant and old chicago steel. How come Lance is not on Wheaties ? |

He was a couple years back.
I don't think it's all about athletes anymore. They put a bass fisherman on the box a year or so ago.
Bass fisher? Are you kidding me? Why not put the annual Quake tournament champion on a box? What's the difference besides a tan? _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."

Lance was the most vulnerable he has been since returning to racing and begining his string of TdF victories....and yet, he still won.
I'll call it now. He wins his 6th next year. Even if Ullrich, Beloki, Pantani, Cippo etc etc are in the race. He's so freaking pissed at his performance in this tour that next year should be a sight!
He'll win. He'll be considered the greatest rider, ever. _________________ -Colin

That is enthusiasm CK1! Look out Italian tufosi!!!
Pantani is past it, Chippo never was a threat except to other sprinters on the flat stages but Ulrich man be a hurdle. Beloki, well we shall see. That was a horrific crash. I wish him the best. The miles add up but I'll be rooting for Lance.
All the young guns will be after him.
Everyone has a long, long way to be as great as Eddy Mercks. He won everything, almost all the other races in the years he was winning the Tour and Giro. He has twice as many racing points as the nearest competitor. No body is even close to the "Cannibal". _________________ Seize from every moment its unique novelty and do not prepare your joys
