We just spent the last week in Puerto Penasco which allows for lots of reading time...I started/finished two books I thought I'd pass along.
In Search of Captain Zero: A Surfer's Road Trip Beyond the End of the Road by Allan C. Weisbecker ...great road trip story...travels from Baja to Costa Rica in a truck camper - surfing, exploring and searching for an old friend...I enjoy the travel narrative genre and this was a wonderful read
Good News by Edward Abbey was an easy read, enjoyable...though a bit depressing as far as subject matter...a great read none the less _________________ -Colin

I had the pleasure of meeting Edward Abbey at a reading and having Desert Solitaire signed by him. What an amazing awesome curmudgeon of a man . Brilliant, outspoken, humorous and adamant about his feelings for the Southwest and country in general. I am so glad I had the opportunity! We tried to take him out for a brew, but he had to leave shortly after the reading. |
