First you will want to check out this link put out by Apple about the newest PowerMac G5 Dual 2Ghz box. They make it sound like the baddest thing on the planet.
Then you will want to check out this link responding to the Apple article.
Apple, as always, skews the results favorably in more than one way.
However, as a point of moderation - here is the real money quote:
Quote: |
I would like to end on a positive note by saying that there are many great things about Macs. The price-to-speed ratio of Macs is not one of those great things, but just because it is poor on that particular point, that does not mean that everything about it is poor. Macs excel in other areas. Speed is not everything.
So, please do not take my article as a criticism of Macs. Rather, I am criticising misleading advertising and fanaticism. |

I wonder what he does. Hopefully nothing!
Does anyone for a minute think that Microsoft is not in the least bit deceptive in their marketing strategies. This whole windows thing started as a ripoff of the real platform and they never did make it near as elequant. The real battle in the early stages was between the speed of intel and motorola chips. I believe as technology speeds ahead and chips become more and more homogenous in there construction and functionalitly, the real issue will be of personal preference for interface and intuitive use. I still believe MAC OS is the champ here. What else can I say. Narrow is the gate and few are those that will enter through it.

Hmmmm, Stan, not sure that's really a Good Book endorsement of Apple After all, Adam and Eve dumped Apple pretty early on....
Now that we are driving a Honda Passport for hiking trips, I can assure you that Hondas were the choice of the early church as Acts says the apostles were in one Accord |

Why he invented the internet, just ask him
Liars kind of flock together I think, or should I say great exaggerators.
Everyone knows I invented the internet |
