Lots of great info in this thread. Thank you so much for the chart Tim and all the input from the rest of you.
Just checked it again.....more than a week since the original flu and 6 days since the last BP check and a 16 mile hike.
Today it was 103/53 with a pulse of 85.
Last week it was 94/51 with a pulse of 79.
so it's coming up, I guess. Pulse rate is coming up, too....wish that was a bit lower. |

Is that pulse rate resting? Or on top of the mountain? _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

that's the grocery shopping pulse rate. I sit down at the machine to take it......one would think it should be lower than that......no telling what it would be at the top of a mountain. |

I think it's the more-or-less resting rate that matters. If that's your resting rate see:

The way I sees it, if the ol' ticker is still ticking, I'm good to go.
Ya know?

Funny but good advice Shawn.
My BP runs the high 90's over the mid 60's. My resting heart rate is 58. I wonder, can personality determine one's resting heart rate? _________________ 'We gain strength, courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face...we must do that which we think we cannot"

Or maybe it works the other way around? _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

Visited with my cancer doc for the checkup. BP 80/56; resting heart rate 53. WBC count is a little low, that sux, but otherwise everything is peachy keen. Md thinks it's normal for me. _________________ You can rest when you're dead |

More likely determined by physical condition. You're a runner, so resting heart rate and BP should be low. Back in the 80's when I was running lots of 10k's as well as after work most days, my resting heart rate was in the high 40's. Just took my BP after returning from nearly two hour gym workout: 116/68. Heart rate 76; probably be lower by time I get to Dr's appt.
Dr's appt at 2:30 today to find out about type II diabetes. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero
