Not so. We do have fire ants in Arizona. In fact, the Southern Fire Ant is a native species to Arizona. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_fire_ant and they do bite HARD...I've battled off and on with little mounds of them in my yard for years. Rolling Eyes

But from what I've read, IGO you're probably talking about the Red Imported Fire Ant which appear to be really nasty and thrive in Georgia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_imported_fire_ant . We have had some in AZ but have a strong eradication progam that's ongoing http://www.azda.gov/Main/pest.htm , and so far so good.

I didn't know there was another fire ant aside from the ones in Dixie. I've never been bitten by any ants in Arizona. I've been "Toe Up" in Georgia.

There are some skin which are sensitive..So better be careful in choosing med for the skin to avoid adding up irriations... Very Happy
