I just got my second order of dry fruit from nutsonline.com I love dried peaches and they are often hard to find in the markets. So far I have bought dried strawberries, the peaches, chocolate covered raisens and dark chocolate covered strawberries. They are incredibly fresh and moist. If you are a dry fruit fan I bet you will like this stuff.
Love, Mary

Thanks for the heads up on that Mary. I love a variety of dried fruit so I'll have to check it out.

My husband makes all sorts of dried fruits in the dehydrator, but I can't eat them, they are too hard. I like the soft ones. How do you make yours?

Would you rather have a date with a nut or a date with a peach?

To the best of my recollection, I seem to have an inclination towards the ones with nuts. Rolling Eyes

Theres a couple of good books out there on dehydrating. One is Mary Bell's Complete Dehydrator Cookbook and I think you can get it at www.drystore.citymax.com/page/page/1356932.htm or Amazon

and another great book which is my favorite is Lip-Smackin' Backpackin'

If you have a dehydrator, you can also just look in regular cookbooks for recipes. Sometimes they need adapting -- less fat to avoid food going bad, smaller pieces of vegetables so they rehydrate faster, etc., but it's not hard to do. You can also vary your regular meals by changing herbs or spices or other ingredients.

Another good way to dehydrate peaches is to blanch them first in lemon juice for they retain their color and then dab them in white powder sugar if you have a sweet tooth.

Vaudeville you say, IGO?

Would you say that a man who's at the tailor's is having fits?

She was the farmer's daughter and all the horse manure.

Two reporters meet. One says, "Hi, I'm Smith from the Tribune." The other says, "Nice to meet you, I'm Brown from the Sun."
