I hope everyone has had a wonderful Thanksgiving get-together with loved-ones and that y'all are out hikin' that bird off now! I'm looking forward to the holidays and their many assorted events and get-togethers with our group.

I hope to see all the regular eaters, er I mean hikers at the Dec. 10th Quartz Peak Christmas hike and party at Doug's house afterwards. Nothing like a friendly fight for Christmas goodies after another eating extravaganza! Goat

Zoo Lights is always a nice hike, anyone care to sponsor an evening hike there? Multi

The New Year will be rolling around soon, we usually have a New Year's Day Hike, who wants to sponsor that hike?

Speaking of sponsoring, we've got another birthday coming up, so get in here y'all! Our site will be three years old this January and we're having another shindig! I'm taking the reins on this one so if you've got problems with it, post here, PM or email me. We'll have the big hike and small hikes, camp-out, cook-out, GHOTM and eating-festival as usual. I can't wait to eat! nutty

The plan is to camp at the group campsite at Lost Dutchman State Park Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th of January 2006. Cookouts Friday and Saturday nights will be accompanied by a large fire. We're doing it a little later this year to allow the Holidays to die down some and free up some folk's schedules. If you tell me you have to work, I have three T words for you, Time Off, Trade, Truancy. You won't want to miss this one! There are no light or electric services at the campsite but between all of the gear we collectively own, I imaging we can roll out plenty of gas stoves, lamps and all of the other amenities we'll need for outdoors comfort. campfire

Saturday's hikes will include:
The Big Hike - Canyon Lake to Peralta. +/- 16 miles
Smaller Hikes - Canyon Lake to Indian Paint Mines and back.
Peralta out and back - (shuttle drivers for Canyon Lake hikers)
Any other hikes there you want.

I hope to see a whole bunch of y'all there including some of you out-of-towners. You know who you are.

Sign up on the registration page if you're join'n in and tell us what you're bringin'. If'n you're against then post why in this thread. fingers crossed

I look forward to seeing y'all there to help us celebrate a great hiking year pass and a new one roll in.

Thanks,
GTG
