I obviously need to do more as I had to take Advil for several days after that caving adventure. Maybe the back to back hike the next day in the Chiricahuas and eating over 150 raspberries did something too.

That's my approach... The best way to get in shape for hiking up and down hills with a backpack on is to hike up and down hills with a backpack on... I don't think Confucius said it. Jim Wickwire, first US Everest team said that the best way to train to climb mountains was to climb mountains.
Of course his law office was on the top floor of a downtown Seattle high rise and he ran the stairs every day over lunch hour......-R |
