The Shining....excellent movie! Great outdoors movie. In the middle of nowhere. I just keep thinking about all the places to hike there.

Lonely are the Brave! Based on Ed Abbey's book "The Brave Cowboy" Kirk Douglas said it was his most favorite movie had had ever done. It was the first roles for Bill Bixby (helicopter pilot) and Carrol O'Connor (truck driver).

Did anyone mention "Jerimiah Johnson"?

"The Earthling"
Ricky Schroeder and William Holden
Survival techniques, life techniques, filmed in the Australian outback.
Must see again soon.

Don't forget "'O brother where art thou"
Escape from captors, survivalist techniques, flood survival tips.

I'll think of others.

You're kidding - right? I saw that in school for some unknown reason. It was okay at best.

Actually - we just loved making fun of good ol' Ricky. That movie was particularly fun for that little sport.
