A friend recommended Guidon Books in Scottsdale for AZ historical books. I took the first hit today, a pictoral and narrative history of the Tewksbury / Graham Fued. Signed, numbered, limited edition. This is going to be tough on my financial health.

If anyone sees a book on Globe, by Clara Woody let me know? Scarce as hen's teeth, and very well written. I've read it but it wasn't mine to keep.

Tewksbury and Graham.... wasnt that the Pleasant Valley war?
I recall a bit of history around the Canyon Creek area, which suffered from the burn in 2000

Guidon is a great shop! I work just up the street from there, it's a cool place to go browse the shelves during lunch. The Antiquarian is another great book shop in Scottsdale.

Yes it was. During the latter 1880's. Some say a standard sheepmen against cattlemen war. Ending, if I remember, sometime in 1891 when a Tewksbury killed the last Graham in present day Tempe.

West side of Scottsdale Road, a few blocks north of Indian School. The parking lot is small, so I usually park on 5th ave. The shop is about a block south of 5th Ave.

Shawn-

Cool store, huh? Is that the Don Dedera (former editor at Arizona Highways) book? A little war of our own: The Pleasant Valley feud revisited. If it isn't, find that one as well. Very well-balanced and researched. The Graham/Tewksbury feud has always been a strong draw for me. You'll discover that many of the accounts have a family bias one way, or another.

A couple of years ago, A buddy and I found what was left of the old Tewksbury place near Young. Lots of old stuff lying around and the history of the place felt real. Take care.
