Last week I installed Windows XP. Since then I do not get a reply notification. Is this a coincidence or did I do something or need to reset something? |

Cindy, do you mean an e-mail notice when someone replies to one of your posts? If so, make sure that box is checked "Yes" in your profile. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

Yes, that's exactly what I mean and I did check and I do have it marked 'yes' . Also, I have to log in every time even though I didn't before and I have checked the 'log in automatically' box numerous times. But this time I did get an e mail reply.?????????? |

OK Cindy, The log-in problem is one I've had since I got this computer with XP installed. I've tried changing all my security setting to the absolute lowest and it didn't help. Maybe Mike or GTG can help here.
As to the auto reply, I'm as puzzled as you. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

The autologin feature is totally based on cookies on your machine. Make sure that your security settings are set to allow cookies. I'm not aware of any issue with XP, but I'll look into it. _________________ |

I've always been set to allow cookies and a lot of sites recognize me as soon as I open them; Just have never been able to use auto log-on, here or anyplace else since I got XP computer. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

You got me, I've never had any problem whatsoever. I will search to see if there's a known issue with XP, and a fix. _________________ |

Getting what Cindy? This category is open for guest posting. I'm going to try something for awhile, login and next time you come back let me know if you had to login, or if the cookie worked. _________________ |

I have xp and my auto log works just fine (nothing else does like my scanner and my printer and I can no longer read some files)
Last week I was getting notices that a thread I had requested had a reply. Then when I went to these mysterious threads it said the thread did not exist! This only happened twice. _________________ Shikekeh hozhoogo naasha.

That was a bug that cropped up when I installed an upgrade to the board last weekend. I finally had the time and was able to hunt it down yesterday. You shouldn't see those anymore. _________________ |
