Why is it, that when I just came to site now, before I logged on it said at the bottom about how many atrticles, etc., but also said there is one person online as a guest. Then when I logged on, that no longer appeared, I have never even seen that it says how many people are online before just now?

If you haven't logged on yet, you'll show as "Guest". Once logged on you'll be be shown as "Registered". So basically, that "Guest" you saw was you.

What I mean Hoolie, is that it doesn't say who is online, guest or otherwise, on my computer. it wasn't until just then that I saw that, then I logged on and that part was not there, except the newest member, # of articles, etc. Should I be able to see that part? Thats kinda cool.

Now as a guest I do see that part, saying that there are 4 people online. When I log on it doesn't show that anymore?

That line was added a couple weeks ago. Should look something like this:

Our users have posted a total of 2066 articles
We have 104 registered users
In total there are 4 users online :: 3 Registered, 0 Hidden and 1 Guest
The newest registered user is RU Kidding

I just copied and pasted this from my front page. It will only show at the bottom of the forum home page.

Maybe Mike will be able to help you out. He will probably respond when he reads your posts.

I think I know why. Dennis, are you using the "compactTrail" style? I switched over to that and sure enough, I don't see that line either. I'll fix that in the template and you should start seeing it. Agree

Is there any way to tell who is on line? I am always curious as to who those registered people who are on are... Or do we consider that a privacy issue?

Diane: After all the Hoolie jokes and Goat Boy digs, you think we have privacy issues here? Crazy

It's sort of a carryover from HAZ. It was decided there to remove that capability. If the consensus is to add the "Who's online" feature back, we could do it. Maybe we should run a poll for a week or so to find out???

Is there any way for those who prefer not to be shown as on line to opt out? Like make it a yes or no box in their profile.

Yes, there is an option in your profile: "Hide your online status".
