Anyone hoping on spending the weekend in the woods might want to have alternate plans, just in case, depending on where you plan on going, good chance of total closure before the weekend. Maybe we will get some rain this week that will save the day, now that would be nice, especially if it put the WIllow Fire out.

I'm being hopeful with the skies today, it's looking like the monsoons might be on their way! I used to love to go to Minnesota over the 4th. We would sit out on a boat, in the middle of the lake and watch the fireworks over the lake. The reflection is fantastic. My plans are currently tenative. Mary

Depending on getting myself motivated I will be heading over to the Gila Wilderness -- from Glenwood thru the "ghost" town of Mongollon to a trail head up and over to Whitewater baldy, camp somewhere and then over to Mongollon Baldy and back out. Maybe shorter than that -- elevation with a backpack at 10,000 feet.
Chatting with Randy at the chili shindig made me want to get back over there----

I'll hopefully be on the trail somewhere where it's cool.

I will in Utah -- taking in sights with not so major hikes along the way. Plan is to head up to Monument Valley -- catch sunset & sunrise & make my way up to Arches (do delicate arch at sunrise -- its gonna be one early day) with a number of side trips along the way...Maybe fireworks in Moab ?

Return is yet unplanned ...winging it most likely. Back in town 7th

Going to New Mexico and watching fireworks there with a small overnight in the Rio Grande Gorge, might spend a few days there, have to rest up for the climb out. But there is water available.
