I have added bike camping to my outdoor activities. Can anyone recommend some two and three day bike rides/camp. Some of the trails that I am planning are the Control Road with campouts at either Verde Glenn or Washington Park and the Ponderosa Campground (I know they are closed this time of year) and along the Rim road. I have a mountain bike (hardtail) and I am looking for some routes.

I biked the Rim Road, took my time, stretched it out to 3 days. Went in the summer and camped at Knolls (?) lake. Fished for the day. Ended out at 260 by Woods Canyon. It was a good time. Also have been on parts of the General Crook Trail. I hear it's bikable all the way but I'm not sure. I think, but am probably mistaken, that it runs from Camp Verde to close to Showlow. I plan on finding out more 'cause it would be fun to do the whole thing.

I'd like to see some more posts about this. Would like to try it. Have any of you heard of the hut system in Colorado where you can bike to a hut, stay the night, and then keep going. Sounds cool, don't you think? Razz
