Just wondering if anyone was interested in doing this---
I've been putting it off, waiting for the right time, hoping to find an opportunity to participate with no conflicts in my schedule and I think I'm finally going to make time for this in October.

AMC TECHNICAL OUTDOOR CLIMBING SCHOOL

LEARN: Equipment care & usage -- Rope handling -- Climbing knots -- Belaying

Rappelling -- Rock climbing techniques -- Self-rescue techniques

DATES, TIMES AND PLACES FOR THE UPCOMING FALL CLASS 2008 ARE:
Oct 14 Tuesday 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm *Havasupai Ramada, North Mountain Park
Oct 16 Thursday 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Havasupai Ramada, North Mountain Park
Oct 18 Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm TBD
Oct 19 Sunday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm TBD
Oct 21 Tuesday 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Phoenix, Solid Rock Gym
Oct 23 Thursday 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Phoenix, Solid Rock Gym
Oct 25 Saturday all day Various times, various places

*North Mountain Park is located at Peoria and 7th St, 5 miles north of Camelback on 7th St. Turn west into the park and look for the orange traffic cones imprinted "AMC" at Havasupai Ramada.

I dunno, but I don't think you'll be feeling up to something like that so close after the RRR, but maybe that's just my own take on the situation.

I know I wouldn't be wanting to climb any obstacles so soon.

I talked to a friend that taught these classes for awhile. He said the first session is an orientation, gear distribution, how to tie a sling and other stuff that wouldn't be so physical. .....if they are following the same schedule.

so I need a little shopping help here in the spirit of color coordination.

I'm looking for blue-gray climbing shoes and a blue gray helmet (i think I can locate that helmet)
or
a purple harness and a purple helmet.............

or
maybe a SPF shirt in both purple and blue.
