I'm going rafting on March 22! A b-day gift to myself! A commercial trip, full day, everything is included in $132 price. If anyone from here would like to meet up with me at the river, please pm me for more details, reservations phone number, etc.

It should be a blast!

Enjoy ya birthday present....

It was something I was considering -- but the date does not work for me. I'll be at Lake Powell.

Lake Powell houseboat sounds fun, too!

I even thought of doing the river guide school, but it's time consuming and expensive. And do I have time to be a river guide right now? Not. If anyone's interested in that, Canyon Rio is the co. that offers it.

Elizabeth.

I will be on a private five-day trip on the Salt, putting in this Sunday. I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out.
I'd also like to squeeze in a two or three day IK float down the Colorado from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry in mid May. Maybe tie it in with doing a PowerPoint show for MP in Flag???

Salt is up now again, to 2100. Should be a good ride next Sat! I have 6 people signed on so far, but I called the co. and they said there is plenty of room, they will just add another raft if there are more.

If you can't make this date, look at this website:
www.raftthesalt.com
Pretty good outfitter, I think. There are other good ones, too, I'm sure, but I always go with this outfit.

When the water gets lower they run rubber ducky trips!! I want to do that, too, but maybe next year.

Have FUN! That sounds awesome. I just forwarded the link to some pals of mine - since they were also interested in rafting!

Thanks for the tip!

It is a great trip - if you haven't done it before - you'll love it.

See if you can get in the little dingy's. Be safe.

Water too high for rubber duckies, (inflatable kayaks), at least, the rafting companies don't use them until water is running below 1,000 cfs. At this moment it's at 1300 or so, but was at 2100 the other day. I expect it is fluctuating up and down. There is still PLENTY of snow up here to melt and run down there.

We'll be going on the paddle rafts, where everyone gets to paddle. It's really fun--and yes, I've done it before!

Hey all. I got home last night from my five-day adventure on the Salt. We had snow flurries and rain squals the first two days then scortching sunshine the final three. Great water, lots of fun. <My first time rowing the Salt.>

I'll be launching April 2nd at Lees Ferry for a Grand Canyon trip. This will be my eighth time down this one.

Enjoy the Salt tomorrow!

I'm back!

And it was great. It was a singular day--blissful at times, even. Great people, fast whitewater, gorgeous weather, wildflowers. (Even the ride back afterward, in the 1974 Bluebird schoolbus, every seat filled, which just barely made it across Cibicue creek, water over the axles, was fun!)

Photos will go up after I take the disposable waterproof camera in for processing.
