I took a week off of biking - had a great hunting trip in the Santa Rita's for 3 days and got my fill of exercise. The weather was incredible and only out matched by the amazing scenery.
If any of you hunt and are interested in javelina - PM me and I'll send you the link to the story. (I mean not to push my hunting on those who chose not.)
We hiked all the open country and there are some very steep canyons and hills (that's what my buddy call them - I call those things mountains)
I'm back on the bike during the evenings - trying to hit 5 times a week and a good 3-6 mile average to keep the heart pumping and the weight down.
I will be 40-years old in May - and my first Canyon trip is now scheduled for the week prior to my aging. Havasupia Falls is our destination and I can not wait to get this one under the belt. Hermit trail is still on the list for the future. I read an article about a outdoor athlete who does an intense adventure on his birthday every year and uses that as his "goal" to condition all year long. Very cool idea and I'm looking forward to adapting that methodology to some extent.
So - my goals:
1. conditioning - body and mind (focus and me time)
2. loss weight - 20-pounds, but 10 would be great!
