Let's celebrate the end of winter with a leisurely stroll through the scenic lower deserts of White Tank Mountain Regional Park west of Peoria. If you are up for a challenge then this is the hike for you. The plan is to head over to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve in north central Phoenix and trek to the top of both North Mtn. and Shaw Butte in one giant loop hike. All hikers should carry at least 3 litres of water, a daypack or fanny pack, your day hiking essentials and a lunch. This hike is for experienced hikers only.

Both are sponsored by City of Peoria Parks and Rec. Dept. Cost is $20 for Peoria residents and $24 for non-residents. Transportation is included. Participants need to pre-register by phone at 623-773-7725 or via the online registration webapge. You may also contact the hike leader, Jamie DeBenedetto, at Jdeben@hotmail.com for more info.
