My friend Robert Who lives in Whitehills Arizona right over the Hoover Dam left for Brazil this week. He's doing the Ecomotion Pro 2007 adventure race in Brazil. It's a 7 day race that includes Mountain biking, Hiking, Kayaking, Climbing and navigation. I think the total race spans 300 miles over mountainous terrain, rain forest's and coastal terrain. He's 51 years old!!!! his team consists of both his son and daughter. I listed the race website below if anyone wants to check it out. I also put his website below. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert 2 years ago out in the Vegas area. He has taken my wife and I on many kayaking and over night trekking adventures.
The race Info.

This is a cool race ... One of my colleagues from our New Zealand office is involved in this. Apparently his team is quite good!

WOW that's cool!!!!! Are you involved in adventure racing also? My wife and I are in the NY/NJ area. We haven't done an "adventure" race yet but we are involved in BI/Trialthons, marathon's and Road bike racing. Robert has offered me a spot on his team but, running a business kind of gets in the way of having to travel to Arizona to train with him. _________________ "Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit." Nope, I've done any adventure racing. I would love to try it out - but I'm not sure I'm ready. It's hard core - you should see the NZ team go to town. I'm always impressed with their fortitude.
In my case, I have only run a marathon (and a couple half marathons) so nothing too crazy. I would like to try a tri but haven't yet.
I think you should totally try it if you get a chance! It would be good fun. _________________ Cheers,

Perhaps - I have been trying to avoid all bugs! It is cold a flu season, you know.
I think I'll expand to a tri in April (or that's the current thought) and see how that goes. I'll have to get my bike in working order (or perhaps that the perfect excuse for a new one ... Hmmmm.)
See how that goes. I suppose it is all uphill from there!
