I ran across this absolutely incredible video of the first free ascent of the Cobra Crack in British Columbia. A 5.14 route that looks absolutely breathtaking, and the climbing is (obviously) first rate.

Amazing.

It is produced by Patagonia Video (yes, the same Patagonia clothing company). So I clicked on their source link, and it is a treasure trove of incredible outdoor videos. Kayaking, surfing, fishing, climbing, sailing, mountaineering....you name it. If Patagonia makes gear for it, they've sponsored an expedition, found an "ambassador" and filmed it.

I highly recommend you check some of them out.

Climbing the face of El Cap has been one of my dreams for most of my life.

The older I get though, the more it looks like just that....a dream.

I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure that was one of the films at Banff this year. It was amazing indeed.

The Banff film festival was down in Tucson this year, excellent outdoor videos.

Go here to be amazed!!!

Dude - that ice climber who breaks off that huge fall, that looked double-plus-ungood.

I'd love to see full versions of some of those climbing clips.

The Banff festival has a spin-off called Radical Reels...it's a tour of those types of action-adrenaline films....very cool...
