UPDATE:

The powdered eggs were NASTY! The texture was chewy and rubbery, and they tasted like overcooked crumbly yolk.

But I scored some very durable and refrigeration-free Goya chorizo at Romanelli's (35th Ave and Dunlap). The price was a bit steep -- $2.99 for two tiny little links, but they were yummy. A touch dry, but not bad at all, and good and spicy!

Man, I used to live right behind Romanelli's. Sometimes I'd go in there and buy a hot loaf of bread and just sit down and eat half of it. Love that store. Across the street is Cortez Park, where I used to play a lot of basketball, gosh, well, mmmm...........almost thirty years ago. Romanelli's has been around awhile.

We've gotten some great subs from Romanelli's before. I pass it every day on my way home from work. Good thing it's on the left side of the road, or I might stop in a bit too often.

As for Cortez Park, judging from all the shoes on the line, it's a place I probably wouldn't want to hang out at at night. Shocked

Yep, some folks call it a blood sausage. It's good stuff.

I buy the dry chorizo powder in the Mexican aisle of the store, add vinegar and water and hand mix it in meat. Cook w/ as many eggs as desired. I love yto cook home made Mexican food. I make great enchiladas, but layer them like lasagna in a rectangular cake pan. I call those las-ladas.Smile

Here's a wiener!

"Blutwurst, the Irish version of blood sausage, is made from pig’s blood, milk and bacon fat. The French, boudin noir, substitutes créme fraiche for the milk and adds onions. The Spanish version replaces the créme fraiche with rice"

Oh please help me!

Ick no ... not blood sausage! Gross.

Chorizo is spicy yummy sausage Very Happy Similar to Portugese linguica. And it's great in a breakfast burrito! Usually you see it in the grocery store meat section, loose, not in the casing.
