I recently started playing basketball. I have discovered that my birth date must be completely wrong. I cannot be 32 - I feel more like I'm 60.

Holy crap. I've been doing it once a week for 3 weeks and I am just plain hammered. I thought I'd be better off, I've been working out at the gym with pretty heavy workouts (2+ hours 4 or 5 times a week) - and in the cardio area I'm doing fine, but my body has quite a number of new aches, pains, creaks and crunches that it didn't have before.

Seems I suddenly aged a few decades without knowing it.

Daddee, I feel your pain... and then some!! I recently started playing softball after a hiatus of 5 or 6 years. I played occasionally during that period, but nothing near a regular basis. Years ago, I would play several nights a week for both my church and work teams. sometimes driving 10 or 15 miles from one game to the next. And I played on a tournament team on weekends! Back then, I couldn't get enough of it! Now I'm play doubleheaders one night a week and wondering how I'm surviving that!! I never remember softball being quite so painful!! Crazy

But you know what.. I still love it and I'm glad at my age I'm still able to get out there and compete. I may not be as fast as I was 20 years ago, but the game is still just as fun!! Someday there'll come a day when I have to give it up for good, bur for now, I'm going to squeeze as much enjoyment out of it as I can!!
