OK, some of you may be aware of the energy drink Redbull www.redbull.com...some may even know that Redbull sponsors a competition called a Flugtag...here's the explanation quote from the website...
Making its U.S. debut in San Francisco in October 2002, Flugtag (which means "flying day") offers an opportunity for participants and spectators to join in the fun while watching fearless amateur pilots attempt to fly human-powered machines! And while the flights have never been record-breaking, the showmanship has always been unparalleled. people try to create a flying machine that they then push off a pier and see how far it can fly...all of them ending up in the water...the flying machines are all themed, and it is quite an experience
OK, well, if you're still reading you might be interested to know that Chicago (my home town) will be having a Flugtag this August. My brother and one of my best friend's entry was selected (among 30 some odd others) from more than 250 applicants. He's doing the Flugtag. Here's his teams bio http://www.redbullflugtagchicago.com/team-bio.php?pilot_id=98
Yes, my brother, TJ Kelly will be part of Flugtag history.
You can't know how proud I am. _________________ -Colin

I've seen some scenes from this. It was pretty hysterical. I think part of the fun is that a lot of people actually make their flying machines to crash spectacularly. It's kind of like a belly-flop contest for flying machines.
Classic stuff. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."
