I don't know if anyone has posted this before, but here is a little something I just discovered. Cool thumbs up

Tonto Rim Search & Rescue has taken a clue from Superstition Search & Rescue and is posting topos of the quads in their area.

Great find dude!

I really like the SSAR quads they offer. Just need access to a plotter, and you're set. I'm going to see what I can locate at work.

I love these quads because the SAR teams have added trail info that is not on the commercial topo quads I have either purchased or printed from software.

I usually don't need the whole quad. I have the Adobe Acrobat Pro Software so I cut out the area I plan on hiking, add the declination and scale info from the bottom and print on the color printer at work to 11' by 17". I then spray it with some waterproofing and throw it into a large ziplock bag.

There are newer editions of most of the Rim Area Topo Maps and are available at the Payson Ranger District and the Forest Service Visitors Center at Clints Well. Price range is from $ 4 (older editions) $ 6 (newer editions).

I make copies of my topo maps and draw in any new info and these SAR web sites are a cool link for additional info.
