This Sunday, March 30th, 8 PM on PBS KAET Channel 8 -
Nature - "Walking with Giants: The Grizzlies of Siberia"
http://www.kaet.asu.edu/bestbets/mar03.htm#giants

"Naturalists Charlie Russell and Maureen Enns get up-close and personal with grizzlies when they practically move in with a family of bears on the remote Kamchatka peninsula in Siberia."

Sounds like another great one from Nature.

I've seen and taped this feature, and coincidentally shared it with Mike & Mrs. Mike a few weeks ago. It is a real interesting show with beautiful scenery. Frankly the guy is nuts....I'd never get that close to a griz given the choice.

However, some time back one of the nature channels featured a show with Stephen Herrero, the author and expert on bear attacks. The show highlighted (or lowlighted, depending on whether you were the diner or the dinee) a number of black bear attacks which were fatal. Makes one wonder which bears are really the most dangerous....

I'd say Black Bears are more dangerous, far and away...based on the fact that more humans live near black bear habitats...they are more dangerous because we live closer to them than Grizz...relatively speaking...
