Or something like that anyway.

The FDA released their new Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005.

At least they're willing to update and change their standards from the old food pyramid that first came out in, what, the 50's?

Dietary technology and knowledge has come a long way since then and it's nice to see that they recognize that.

Hmmmm, Americans didn't pay attention to the old food pyramid. I doubt adding stairs and technicolor will significantly change american diets. It's still a good message but most folks can't hear it over the crunch of the chips they're eating.

You mean biscuits in a can, salad in a bag and wine in a box aren't part of the basic food groups?

Daddee, they did do something that will help out computer literate folks who want to know what to eat. http://www.mypyramid.gov

On this government website you enter your age, gender, and activity level and it tells you how much stuff to eat. Now all they need to do is include fast food options. For example, 6 ounces lean meat, two slices of bread, 3 fruits, and 4 veggies might be equivalent to one Jumbo Jack and a cigarette.
