Can I download into the gps the topo map of the nat. parks as well as the city trip.
I also wanna visit some spot like the wave, backroads between bryce and grand canyon.
Thanks |

If you go to the garmin.com website you can run a comparison chart of the two.

hi,
Here in belgium, I don't have the opportunity to go into a shop and compare both model. So I do need the experience of an experimented guy to help me out.
Thanks |

Sorry to confuse, but what I meant was if you go on the Garmin website it allows you to do product comparison.
http://www.garmin.com/outdoor/compare.jsp
Check off the products you want to compare and click on the "submit" button below and it will bring up a comparison chart side by side.
Hope this helps.

You probably want to get the 60cs it has more memory than the vista. and if you want both the topo and city maps you're going to need all the memory you can get.
Sunhikers right though, you should definately check it out on Garmins website first. Neither one is cheap so you should know everything you can about both models before you shell out the cash. _________________ Cogito ergo ambulo cum sacculo

hi all,
thanks for your information. I've been to the garmin website. I know I've got more memory on the 60CS and also a navigator which should be great for a europeen hiker.
I'm a newbie about gps. I know There's a usefull return back to the car cause I don't wanna get lost but I can have that feature on a lower cost model.
Can anybody explain me or show me a website to how I can program a trail? Do I have to get special map and how to download the points into the gps. Or all that matter is too long to explain on a website.
Anyway thanks for all the information and just let me tell you I love your country and I wish I could live there. |

I personally use a topo map (topo usa) program. I trace a route with the route tool; Then I create a Gps waypointe route, and then export it into my GPS. You can manually create a route , but you have to figure the cordinents from a map if you don't have them from somewhere else. |

I use (and recommend) the same program. TOPO Arizona (and the others) are great tools. _________________ Cogito ergo ambulo cum sacculo
