Hello. I'm Rob, and I'm new here, and as you may be able to tell from my username, I'm from Page. I was wondering if anyone out there knows some good places to snowshoe in Arizona. My wife and I bought snowshoes not too long ago, and we've been going up to Utah to use them (Cedar Breaks, Bryce), but we were also wondering if there were any places on our side of the state line to try out. Our two ideas so far are the Jacob Lake area, and Flagstaff (if they've got any snow left). Anything else?
Looking forward to being a part of this community!

Tim is the one to ask on this one. He's been doing (or trying to do) some snowshoe treks this winter. Unfortunately our snowfall hasn't been what one could hope for this year and a lot of it is melting fast.

Yeah I wanted to do a winter Mt. Humphrey's accent via snowshoes. It is going to end up as an early April trip if there is any snow left. Other than that I don't really know of any good places right now. If Flagstaff gets another big storm I'm sure there would be plenty of places to check out.

I was up at the Snowbowl Feb 20 with the intention of doing Humphreys via the Trail, but it took half an hour just to find the trailhead- snow was up to the top of the sign (about 4ft?).
I can't imagine that it has all melted in less than 2 weeks, It has been in the mid 50s at the airport, but it's a bit cooler up on top of the hill.
I did some snow camping a couple of miles out the Kachina Trail in Jan, and there was plenty of snow. Call the Snowbowl for info- they don't use artificial snow, so if there's snow on the runs, there should be snow for snowshoeing.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips - I think I'll need a bit more snowshoe experience before I do Humphreys - when I did it in October a couple years ago, it was a little bit more strenuous than I had imagined.
