By chance,I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Katie Lee, author of "All My Rivers are Gone" and "Sandstone Seductions", Sunday night in Sedona at the Heartline Cafe. Wow! She is amazing! 85 years old and just a pistol!! Explored canyons with Butchard and buddy of Ed Abbey. I had heard her at a lecture at gentle Strength in Tempe, some time ago, and how awesome it was to talk with her. Heat, she woulda really dug you+ Sande J and all you guys. The adventures she has had and her boundless love for this wilderness of ours is a joy to behold. My Hero!! Smile

You are so lucky--- Katie Lee and I have exchanged emails regarding her truely wonderful book "All My Rivers are Gone". What I wouldn't give to see Glen Canyon as it was. The Escalante is a tributary which gives some indication of what we lost with Lake Powell. And it was a tremendous loss indeed.

Georg~~

You told me about meeting her this week when we had dinner in Sedona. That's great that you had the chance to meet her.

Thanks for hooking me up with Shelley....we had a great time hiking this past week.

Mr. Green

Trish and Letty! Katie is a wonder. I feel so lucky to have made her acquaintance. We have emailed and I phoned her on Weds.morning just to tell her what a kick it was to chat with her.She was gracious , witty, and just great. I feel we will continue communicating. Yes, Glen Canyon must have been magnificent. A loss, indeed. Sad
