Need a new daypack. Does camelbak make a good one(peakbagger) or should I look at some other brands. Need something to hold the usual even on cold days. |

Welcome to the site!
I have a Camelbak Peakbagger which I use for longer hikes. I've been real pleased with it. _________________ [/size] |

My favorite is the Moutainsmith Wraith. Backcountry Gear even has it on sale right now.

For day hikes I use an over the shoulder military bag--I wear the strap cross body. _________________ Shikekeh hozhoogo naasha.

I use an Osprey internal frame overnight pack. It is a bit bigger than needed, but the suspension is better than I'ne found on daypacks. I tend to play "what if" and pack those things I might need to sucessfully bivoac overnight if I get overextended or a mite confused as to the route. This includes the basic survival gear, extra food and water, and enough warm clothing to make a cold overnight passable without a sleeping bag. -R |

I'd go with the Peak Bagger. I used mine to get to and from Phantom Ranch; held everything I needed, comfortable and 100 oz bladder comes with it. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

And I'm sure it works just great for Randy's 40 pound DAYpack! (sorry Randy, I couldn't resist! ) _________________ ~Tracy

I use a military spec camelbak and I have nothing but good things to say about the pack. It's built solid (it's meant to be shot at after all) and holds a good amount of gear. The bladder is a slightly different style than the civilian models but functions the same for all intents and purposes. _________________ Cogito ergo ambulo cum sacculo
