I missed the news this eve. Is there a fire north east of the valley? I saw pretty big smoke clouds out that way this afternoon. _________________

From Tonto National Forest's website:
The Tonto National Forest is conducting a prescribed fire on Mount Ord, projected to last 3-4 days, south of the Beeline Highway (State Route 87). The 250 acre prescribed burn, which will reduce the risks of future wildfires, is actively burning in Oakbrush and creating a lot of smoke easily visible. _________________ [/size] |

The prescribed burn was first proposed in the mid 1990's. |
