For me, when working at REI - the single best day in the world was the B-93 sale - all the returned stuff for sale. Just a madhouse. I especially liked holding the pricing gun - I loved to haggle with people. Just plain fun.

If you ever go to one remember that the good stuff all goes in a matter of about 1 hour - and they aren't marked off all that much (sometimes not any more than a regular sale), but as the day wears on, they are trying to get rid of everything, so prices become negotiable. There are always a few gems in there for the right person.

B-93s are great, if you get there early, otherwise it's a waste...PV did one outside that was great, plenty of room...Tempe usually does theirs in that next door area...totally hot and no light...

Regardless great deals....I like to read the reason for some of the returns...I picked up a lightweight summer tent that was returned because it "smelled bad".

Smelled like a tent.

You have no idea. We got stuff returned all the time that we would look at each other (covertly of course) and say "Huh?"

One time we got something returned as not used that had grass stains all over it. We pointed that little fact out to the moron and he INSISTED that it had never come out of the package. Oh, well okay then!

People can be really interesting some times.
