On page 106 of the August '04 issue of Backpacker, they review six different trail running shoes. The Montrail Masai got the highest rating (just barely). Anyone have experience with these shoes? From the description, they sound like they could be a good shoe for treks like the WFW. The other five shoes were, in best to worst rating order: Saloman XA Pro 2; Dunham Trail MX; Vasque Velocity; Tecnica Tricon; Merrell Torque. Any experience with any of those shoes? _________________ [/size] |

I have loved the Vasque Lightspeed's I had, I have a pair of the Vasque Velocity now but haven't got to take them out on the trail yet. The Saloman XA trainers I have have been great too. Very light, felt great even after a 24 mile day. My friend has a pair of the XA pro 2's and he has loved them, just bought another pair of them also. |
