Hi all, newbie here.

As a kid, I remember my grandfather telling me a story about a bat cave that was in a canyon just beyond Beer Can Point (upriver) on Canyon Lake in the Superstitions. He said the guano from it was used to make gunpowder for WWII.

Does anyone know where this cave is in particular? Would like to plan a hike there if feasible.

Thanks,

Trent

Thanks GTG.

I read the link you sent me. Doesn't say much about where exactly it is, though.

Just a heads-up,
If we enter a cave during the winter months when the bats are hibernating, our presence can disturb them enough that they won't have enough stored energy for their full winter's hibernation. That can cause them to awaken too soon in the Spring before their insect food-supply is there. The population might then starve, since they have to be in synch with the insects they feed upon.
